Plant perennials as well as summer and fall flowering bulbs.
Sow annuals only under cover: petunias, verbenas, sage, marigolds, cosmos...
Finish planting bare root deciduous shrubs, and evergreen shrubs in root ball.
It's the final stretch to plant the fruit trees which will need to be well watered to help the recovery.
On the other hand, this is the time to plant red berry bushes: currants, raspberries, black currants.
